What healing (actually) looks like:

Healing is keeping a photo of the 6 year old version of yourself and regularly saying: "Look how far we've come."
It's reminding little you that you're responsible for your own life now, and the opportunities are endless.

Healing is releasing your savior complex.
Knowing that it isn't your role to fix or be everything to everyone.
It's telling people around you: “I trust you know what’s best for you.“
And I focus on understanding what's best for me.

Healing is resting. Allowing yourself to decompress from constant busyness of today's world, that's really avoidance in disguise.
It's the sun on your skin and the breeze through your hair as you gift your nervous system relief from stimulation.

Healing is realizing no one knows what they're doing.
Even the people you admire.
And you're not supposed to know what you're doing.
Life is a classroom. We're learning as we go.
And we find strength in being the humble student.

Healing is actually about self discovery.
It's about following your curiosities and interests.
It's about tuning out from the voices of your parents and society so that you can finally hear the inner wisdom we've all been gifted in this lifetime.

Healing is having patience for all parts of you.
Not just the good parts. The parts of us that are impatient, petty, harsh, insecure, and immature.
When you speak to yourself as the stable parent you wish you had.

Healing is when you push yourself out of your comfort zone.
When you have a beginner's mindset you're never good at something until you practice.
You cheer yourself on as you make mistakes over and over again.

Healing is finally realizing who you truly are: the conscious awareness beyond your conditioned reactions.
